As a first-generation college student, I have learned that opportunity is not given — it is earned, one
late shift, one late night of studying, and one small victory at a time. Growing up in a household where every
dollar was counted, I understood early that education was my way forward, and I have carried that
understanding into everything I do: I have balanced part-time work with a demanding course load,
volunteered in my community, and pushed myself to lead projects and take on challenges I once thought
were beyond me. This scholarship would do more than lighten the financial weight of college; it would give
me the time and focus to fully commit to my studies and to my goal of building a career where I can give
back to families like mine. I am ready to work for it — and to make this investment count for myself, my
community, and the future I intend to build.
