What Is an Investigation Report?

An investigation report is a report typically delivered in order to relay information regarding an investigation (ongoing or not).

Writing an investigation report can be a draining process. One needs enough concentration to be able to deliver the essential points of the investigation in a clear and understandable way. Here are key steps in writing an investigation report:

  • Keep a purpose in mind. Know, first of all, the purpose of the investigation. And before you write a report, know why you are writing a report.
  • Collect the information regarding the investigation.  Research report. Interview people. Do every process of gathering data, and collect the necessary data for the investigation.
