Dear SpaceX Recruiting Team,
With a strong foundation in electrical and electronics engineering from California State Polytechnic University-Pomona, where I
graduated with honors and was recognized on both the Dean's Honors List and the President's Honors List, I am excited to
apply for the Avionics Engineer position at SpaceX. I am eager to bring my systems-level engineering expertise, hands-on
validation experience, and deep passion for space exploration to your mission of making humanity multiplanetary.
Throughout my career, I have developed extensive experience in hardware test and system validation engineering. At Ford Motor
Company, I work as a Hardware Test Engineer where I design, develop, and execute test strategies for complex vehicle systems,
ensuring functional integrity and performance compliance across hardware and software interfaces. This role has sharpened my
ability to work at the intersection of electronics, embedded systems, and real-time software — disciplines that are central to
avionics engineering.
Prior to my current role, I completed a System Validation Engineering Internship at Tesla, where I was immersed in vehicle
software validation in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Working at Tesla gave me direct exposure to rigorous
verification and validation processes for safety-critical systems, strengthening my ability to identify failure modes, analyze root
causes, and deliver robust test coverage under demanding timelines.
My academic background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, combined with my professional experience across two of the
most demanding engineering environments in the industry, has prepared me to contribute meaningfully to SpaceX's avionics
programs. I have a thorough understanding of hardware-software integration, signal integrity, power systems, and the test
methodologies required to certify flight-ready electronics. I am highly motivated by challenges that demand both technical
precision and creative problem-solving under constraint — which is exactly the environment SpaceX represents.
I have long admired SpaceX's relentless pursuit of rapid iteration and first-principles engineering. The opportunity to apply my
skills to avionics systems on launch vehicles or spacecraft would represent the culmination of my professional aspirations. I am
confident that my background in cross-functional validation, systems thinking, and high-stakes hardware testing aligns directly
with the expectations of this role.
I look forward to the opportunity to discuss how my experience and enthusiasm can contribute to SpaceX's continued success.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Yours sincerely,
Khoi N.
