Dear
Members
of
the
Admissions
Committee
,
It
is
my
genuine
pleasure
to
write
this
letter
in
strong
support
of
Marcus
T
.
Okafor
'
s
application
to
the
doctoral
program
in
Molecular
Biology
at
Hartwell
University
.
I
have
served
as
Marcus
'
s
research
supervisor
and
academic
advisor
in
the
Department
of
Biochemistry
at
Pacific
State
University
for
the
past
three
years
,
and
I
can
say
without
reservation
that
he
is
among
the
most
intellectually
driven
and
scientifically
capable
students
I
have
had
the
privilege
to
mentor
in
over
two
decades
of
teaching
and
research
.
Marcus
first
came
to
my
attention
in
my
upper
-
division
course
in
Cell
Signaling
and
Molecular
Mechanisms
,
where
he
consistently
submitted
work
that
demonstrated
not
only
a
thorough
command
of
course
material
but
also
a
rare
ability
to
synthesize
findings
across
disciplines
and
pose
incisive
questions
that
pushed
beyond
the
scope
of
assigned
readings
.
His
final
research
paper
on
allosteric
regulation
in
kinase
cascades
was
of
a
quality
I
would
expect
from
a
second
-
year
graduate
student
,
and
I
encouraged
him
immediately
to
join
my
laboratory
.
I
am
aware
that
doctoral
programs
at
Hartwell
University
are
highly
competitive
and
that
you
receive
applications
from
talented
candidates
across
the
country
.
It
is
in
that
context
that
I
want
to
be
direct
:
Marcus
Okafor
is
the
kind
of
student
who
will
make
the
most
of
every
resource
and
opportunity
available
to
him
,
contribute
meaningfully
to
his
cohort
and
to
the
broader
intellectual
life
of
the
program
,
and
go
on
to
produce
research
that
advances
the
field
.
I
recommend
him
to
you
in
the
strongest
possible
terms
and
without
qualification
.
Should
you
wish
to
discuss
Marcus
'
s
qualifications
further
,
I
welcome
the
opportunity
to
speak
with
any
member
of
the
committee
.
Please
do
not
hesitate
to
contact
me
at
the
email
or
phone
number
listed
above
.
Sincerely
,
Dr
.
