program

Marcus

joined

mentor
in
our
After
-
School
STEM
Mentorship
Initiative
,
working
one
-
on
-
one
with
middle
-
school
students
in
underserved
neighborhoods
.
He
tutored
twelve
students
weekly
in
mathematics
and
introductory
coding
,
but
his
role
quickly
expanded
beyond
scheduled
sessions
.
When
one
student
struggled
with
consistent
attendance
due
to
an
unstable
home
environment
,
Marcus
proactively
coordinated
with
our
social
work
team
to
adjust
meeting
times
and
provide
supplemental
learning
materials
.
Marcus
is
punctual
,
reliable
,
and
consistently
asks
how
he
can
contribute
more
deeply
.
He
communicates
clearly
with
staff
,
treats
every
participant
with
respect
,
and
raises
concerns
privately
and
constructively
when
he
sees
