Environmental
Studies

I
have
had
the
privilege
of
working
with
Elena
for
the
past
two
years
as
her
academic
advisor
and
instructor
,
and
I
can
state
without
hesitation
that
she
is
among
the
most
dedicated
,
intellectually
curious
,
and
capable
students
I
have
taught
in
my
seventeen
years
at
Westfield
University
.
Elena
is
exceptionally
responsive
to
her
academic
responsibilities
and
demonstrates
a
rare
ability
to
synthesize
complex
scientific
concepts
and
apply
them
to
real
-
world
environmental
challenges
.
She
has
consistently
earned
top
marks
in
her
coursework
,
maintaining
a
GPA
of
3.94
out
of

she
has
done
so
while
simultaneously
contributing
meaningfully

our
department

research

Elena
served
as
the
student
lead
on
two
significant
field
research
projects
—
one
examining
microplastic
accumulation
in
freshwater
ecosystems
in
the
Columbia
River
Basin
,
and
another
assessing
the
impact
of
urban
heat
islands
on
local
biodiversity
.
Both
appointments
were
made
at
my
recommendation
and
with
the
enthusiastic
support
of
her
fellow
researchers
.

Elena
demonstrated
sound
scientific
judgment

strong
organizational

,
and
a
genuine
commitment

the
