the

unexpected

dog
park

moved

city

was
determined
to
make
friends

she
decided
to
take
her
rescue
pup

to
the
local
park

As
Gus
was
enthusiastically
chasing
a
squirrel

or
perhaps
making
a
new
friend

he
ended
up
tangling
Ruby

leash
with
another
dog

.
That
dog
,
as
it
turns
out
,
belonged
to
Thomas
.
Apparently
,
Gus
and
Thomas
'
s
dog
,
Buster
,
hit
it
off
immediately
.
Thomas
,
looking
slightly
embarrassed
but
very
amused
,
came
over
to
untangle
the
leashes
.
Ruby
described
him
as
having
the
warmest
smile
and
the
kindest
eyes
,
and
of
course
,
a
shared
love
for
their
furry
companions
.
They
started
chatting
,
initially
about
their
dogs
,
then
about
everything
else
under
the
sun
.
I
remember
Ruby
calling
me
later
that
evening
,
practically
buzzing
.
She
said

Chloe

I
just
met
someone
amazing

He
loves
dogs

he

funny

and
he
actually
listened
when

Gus

s
dietary
restrictions

was
clear

chaotic
meeting
