Seeing
Zoe

looking

happy
and
so
in
love

is
truly
a
dream
come
true
.
Zoe
and
I
met
back
in
our
freshman
year
of
college
,
during
that
chaotic
week
of
orientation
where
everyone
’
s
trying
to
figure
out
where
the
dining
hall
is
and
if
they
’
ve
packed
enough
socks
.
We
were
assigned
as
roommates
,
and
I
remember
walking
into
our
dorm
room
,
bracing
myself
for
the
worst
,
and
finding
Zoe
already
there
,
surrounded
by
boxes
,
but
somehow
managing
to
make
the
drab
dorm
room
look
like
a
cozy
haven
.
She
had
fairy
lights
up
,
had
already
color
-
coded
her
bookshelf
,
and
was
offering
me
a
granola
bar
like
we
were
old
friends
.
That
was
my
first
introduction
to
Zoe
–
always
prepared
,
always
thoughtful
,
and
always
making
everyone
around
her
feel
instantly
welcome
.
I
can
vividly
recall
one
particular
moment
,
a
few
months
into
our
friendship
,
that
really
cemented
for
me
what
a
special
person
Zoe
is
.
We
were
studying
for
a
brutal
organic
chemistry
midterm
,
fueled
by
stale
pizza
and
sheer
panic
.
I
was
completely
stuck
on
a
concept
,
convinced
I
was
going
to
fail
,
and
Zoe
,
despite
being
neck
-
deep
in
her
own
studying
,
noticed
my
distress
.
Instead
of
just
telling
me
to
power
through
,
she
patiently
sat
with
me
for
over
an
hour
,
drawing
diagrams
,
explaining
it
in
three
different
ways
until
it
finally
clicked
.
She
didn

t
make
me
feel
stupid
for
not
getting
it

she
just
radiated
this
quiet
confidence
and
genuine
desire
to
help
.

Mason

the

Zoe

her

in
a
