From
the
moment
I
could
hold
a
pencil
,
I
was
sketching
silhouettes
on
the
margins
of
notebooks
,
translating
the
movement
of
fabric
in
my
mind
onto
paper
.
Fashion
,
for
me
,
has
never
been
about
garments
alone
;
it
is
a
language
of
identity
,
a
dialogue
between
the
body
and
the
space
it
occupies
.
I
am
applying
to
the
MFA
Fashion
Design
programme
because
I
believe
this
course
is
the
crucible
where
my
technical
curiosity
and
my
conceptual
ambition
can
finally
merge
.
My
undergraduate
studies
in
Textile
Design
at
the
Politecnico
di
Milano
gave
me
a
rigorous
foundation
in
material
behaviour
,
weave
structures
,
and
sustainable
dye
processes
.
Yet
it
was
my
internship
at
Studio
Ferragamo
in
Florence
that
taught
me
the
discipline
of
the
atelier
:
the
precision
of
a
hand
-
finished
seam
,
the
negotiation
between
artistic
vision
and
commercial
viability
,
and
the
quiet
power
of
a
collection
that
tells
a
coherent
story
from
look
one
to
look
twenty
.
I
design
through
the
lens
of
deconstruction
and
reassembly
.
I
am
fascinated
by
how
a
garment
can
be
dismantled
to
its
essential
planes
and
then
rebuilt
to
challenge
conventional
posture
and
proportion
.
My
latest
project
, "
Second
Skin
,"
explores
biodegradable
knit
structures
that
adapt
to
the
wearer
'
s
temperature
,
bridging
the
gap
between
performance
wear
and
haute
couture
sensibility
.
This
work
was
shortlisted
for
the
Milan
Fashion
Week
Graduate
Showcase
and
confirmed
my
belief
that
innovation
in
fashion
must
serve
both
the
earth
and
the
human
form
.
The
Royal
College
of
Art
'
s
commitment
to
interrogating
the
boundaries
between
fashion
,
technology
,
and
craft
resonates
deeply
with
my
practice
.
I
am
particularly
drawn
to
Professor
Linnea
Voss
'
s
research
into
zero
-
waste
pattern
cutting
and
the
college
'
s
collaborative
workshops
with
bio
-
material
scientists
.
I
see
the
RCA
not
merely
as
a
place
to
refine
my
technique
,
but
as
a
laboratory
where
I
can
experiment
with
digital
fabrication
and
circular
systems
at
scale
.
1 / 2
Upon
graduating
,
I
intend
to
launch
a
studio
that
operates
at
the
intersection
of
avant
-
garde
ready
-
to
-
wear
and
material
innovation
.
My
goal
is
to
create
collections
that
are
entirely
biodegradable
,
fully
traceable
,
and
emotionally
durable
.
I
want
to
prove
that
sustainability
does
not
necessitate
a
compromise
in
beauty
or
desire
,
but
can
instead
redefine
them
.
Fashion
is
responsibility
as
much
as
it
is
expression
.
I
bring
to
this
programme
a
relentless
work
ethic
,
a
reverence
for
craft
,
and
a
vision
that
is
unapologetically
ambitious
.
I
am
ready
to
contribute
,
to
learn
,
and
to
be
challenged
.
Thank
you
for
considering
my
application
.
Yours
sincerely
,
Elena
