Crash
he year 2000 was a trial by fire. When the bubble burst,
our funding dried up and the critics sharpened their
knives. I had to make the hardest decisions of my life,
including our first and only significant layoffs at the time. We focused
on 'customer success' above all else. We realized that in a downturn,
our subscription model was our greatest strength. Customers didn't
