Movie Ticket Inspiration Designs

Even though we provided some examples that you can purchase at very affordable prices, you can always add some designs to increase the aesthetics of the invitation. Since you will be creating a movie ticket invitation, there are hundreds of movie-inspired designs that you can use for your own invitation. Listed below are some popular films that you can base the designs of your invitation on. You may also see wedding invitation ticket examples.

Star Wars

To say that Star Wars is one of the successful franchises of all time is an understatement. The first ever Star Wars (1977) wasn’t even almost released due to the negative reaction of movie-goers toward science fiction movies during the 1960s and 1970s. What happens next are nine feature films, numerous television shows, multiple awards and recognitions (including an Oscar for Best Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), and over USD 8 billion in profit in a span of over 40 years. You may also see invitation ticket examples.

Star Wars is a science fiction film. Thus, science fiction designs should only be utilized when you will be deciding to use Star Wars as your main concept for the invitation. Additionally, the popularity of the franchise is also due to its famous characters. Luke and Leah Skywalker, Han Solo, R2-D2, C3PO, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Yoda, Storm Trooper, Boba Fett, Rey, Fin, Kylo Ren, BB-8, and Poe Dameron are some of the most famous characters of the Star Wars saga, and you can implement these characters in your invitation design. You may also see anniversary ticket examples.

The characters are not only ones who make the franchise memorable. Lightsabers, gun blasters, and space ships all complete the Star Wars experience. When creating the invitation, you can use a space-inspired background (i.e. black color to represent space and white sparkling dots to represent the stars) or use screenshots from the actual scenes of the movies. Remember that if you will be using screenshots, it will be for recreational purposes only and not for business purposes as you will definitely be charged with copyright infringement.

The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit

Director Peter Jackson’s faithful adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s best-selling novels The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit has created a massive impact in pop-culture. Although all of the three Lord of the Rings films have been released (with the last movie of the trilogy, The Return of the King being released in 2003), newer generations still embrace both the books and the movie trilogy. You may also see multipurpose event ticket designs.

Compared to futuristic Star Wars, Lord of the Rings (LOTR) is more of a medieval tale complete with knights, elves, dwarves, wizards, orcs, and flying monsters. LOTR also produced iconic characters which have become household names for medieval movie fans, such as hobbits Frodo and Bilbo Baggins, King Aragorn, elves Legolas and Galadriel, dwarves Gimli and Thorin Oakenshield, wizards Gandalf and Saruman, brothers Boromir and Faramir, Gimli, and Sauron. You may also see raffle ticket examples.

When creating an LOTR or Hobbit invitation, never forget to include the golden ring which is the main focus of the films. The ring design can be placed at the center of the invitation or at the top corners of the invitation. The golden ring is the perfect design for a wedding invitation, but also make sure most of the guests are fans of the LOTR films.

The great thing about LOTR is that the story also revolves around different races: humans, elves, dwarves, and orcs. Each race has its own distinct and unique designs. Humans have their swords, shields, and horses. Elves have their trees, long blond hair, and pointy ears. Dwarves meanwhile have their hammers and long beards. Orcs meanwhile look like monsters with their dark appearance and large sharp teeth. You can use different races for your invitations as this adds to the aesthetic and overall design. You may also see festival concert ticket examples.

Harry Potter

If Lord of the Rings is mostly directed at adults, Harry Potter meanwhile is directed at teenagers, although the franchise was never meant to cater to teens and children alone. Similar to Lord of the Rings, the Harry Potter films is also based on the best-selling novels of J.K. Rowling. A total of seven books have been published in a span of 10 years. Each movie is based on one book, but the last book (The Deathly Hallows) was divided into two movies. Harry Potter is one of the most beloved book and movie franchises of all time, and the popularity of the franchise did not fade when the movies’ initial run ended in 2011 (Deathly Hallows Part 2).

The entire premise of Harry Potter is basically students wearing robes battling adults (also wearing robes) with magic. The character designs are quite limited as most characters wear the same outfits and costumes. So, what you do is use the locales (i.e. Hogwarts, Platform 9 3/4, Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, Hogsmeade, Azkaban, Ministry of Magic, Godric’s Hollow, etc.) as your main designs. You may also see watercolor event ticket examples.

Marvel’s The Avengers

It truly was a renaissance for Marvel as it released a total of 19 movies in a span of 10 years, earning USD 15 billion in the process. Marvel is home of the most popular comic book characters of all time, but financial turmoil forced the company to sell most of its characters in the 1990s. This forced the company to use its B and C-level characters, but it was actually a blessing in disguise for Marvel as each movie they released earned at least USD 300 million worldwide. Due to Marvel’s massive success, they got one of their most popular characters back—Spiderman.

The Avengers (2012) began with Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Hawkeye, Black Widow, and Nick Fury. The latest Avengers movie, Infinity War, now includes Doctor Strange, Spiderman, Ant Man, and the Guardians of the Galaxy (Star Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket). You may also see creative event ticket designs.

Looking for designs won’t be a problem when you will be deciding to use the Avengers as your main concept for the invitation. You can easily use the characters as your central designs, but avoid implementing all of the characters in one invitation as this makes the invitation design cluttered. You may also see vintage ticket designs.

James Bond

James Bond is the ultimate spy. The smooth-talking and gadget-wielding secret agent is one of the most famous characters in film history. But before he was introduced in the silver screen, he was first a character created by English author Ian Flemming. The Bond stories spanned 14 novels and numerous short stories, all written by Flemming.

The first Bond movie was entitled Dr. No (also one of Flemming’s novels), with James Bond being played by Oscar-winning actor Sean Connery. Since then, 25 Bond movies have been released, with the titular character being played by 11 actors, most famously by Connery and Roger Moore, and most recently by Daniel Craig. The next Bond film will be released in 2020, and will be the last Bond film Craig will be starring in. You may also see multipurpose show ticket designs.

You can use the iconic James Bond intro where Bond shoots at a moving target as your main invitation design. Additionally, you can use Bond’s wide collection of gadgets and guns in your invitation designs.

Batman

If Marvel has Captain America and Iron Man, DC has Batman. But unlike Marvel, DC does not have its own production studio. Instead, Warner Brothers Inc. owns Batman’s movie rights and they have so far been successful in bringing the caped crusader to life. The most successful Batman movies (financially and critically) were created by acclaimed director Christopher Nolan (i.e. Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and the Dark Knight Rises), in which Batman was played by Oscar-winning actor Christian Bale. The most recent iteration of Batman played by Ben Affleck has received mixed reviews after the subpar Justice League and Batman v Superman movies were released, but Affleck’s version of the character (oftentimes called “Batfleck”) is nonetheless popular with the fans.

Batman is one of the most iconic movie characters of all time, with his costume undergoing numerous changes over the 70 years since the character created. You can use his numerous costume designs for the invitation, or use his wide array of villains (all of which have very colorful costumes) for the invitation designs, such as the Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane, Poison Ivy, and Dr. Freeze, to name a few.
