5. CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK & AREAS FOR GROWTH
To further refine her instructional practice and leadership, Eleanor should focus on the following developmental
areas:
Feedback Turnaround Time:
Eleanor sets incredibly high standards for student lab reports, which requires
intensive grading. However, returning these lengthy reports often takes over two weeks. To maximize the formative
impact of her feedback, Eleanor should explore peer-review protocols or utilize streamlined digital grading rubrics
to return feedback within a five-day window, allowing students to apply corrections to subsequent assignments.
Cross-Curricular Integration:
While her science instruction is stellar, there is an opportunity to partner more
deeply with the Mathematics department. Collaborating on a cross-curricular unit focusing on statistical analysis
and data graphing would deeply enrich the students' analytical skills ahead of the AP exams.
6. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN & FUTURE GOALS (FY2026-2027)
Goal 1 (Interdisciplinary Instruction):
Co-plan and co-teach a two-week interdisciplinary data analysis unit in
collaboration with the AP Statistics instructor by Q2 of the upcoming academic year.
Goal 2 (State-Level Leadership):
Present her successfully implemented NGSS curriculum transition model at
the State Science Teachers Association Annual Conference in the spring.
Goal 3 (Continuing Education):
Complete the district-sponsored Gifted & Talented (G&T) instructional micro-
credential to better support the highest-achieving students in her honors cohorts.
Goal 4 (Assessment Efficiency):
Implement and pilot a new peer-review grading protocol for preliminary lab
report drafts, targeting a 50% reduction in final draft grading turnaround time.
