10 Tips: All About Scheduling

Here are some tips that you can make use when you are going to do some scheduling on your own:

1. Prioritize most important tasks first.

Even if it is the last thing you want to do in your day, you have to prioritize important tasks you have to do so that at the end of the day, you will have a good night’s sleep. Every day, you have to figure out what are the two or three most crucial and important tasks you have to do and make sure that these tasks are the ones you prioritize and accomplish first.

Once you complete this kind of tasks, you would already feel successful and it gives you the feeling that you can do the rest of the minor tasks you have for the rest of the day.

2. Learn to say no

This might not be a part of creating a schedule but this makes but there are instances when there are a lot of opportunities coming in your way and even invites from friends that could really affect your schedule.

When you already have a lot of time commitments, you tend to juggle all of them together, and at some point, when there are already a lot of things to juggle, chances are, it’s either you feel tired juggling them all or one of the balls would fall out until every ball you are juggling would all go down. Do not be afraid to say no to all the things that are offered to you.

3. Schedule at least 7-8 hours solely for work

With all the tasks you have at hand, you might come at some point that you would already give up sleep and meals just so you can finish all the tasks you have to do within the day. However, humans as we are, we have a limit, our bodies have a limit. When we reach our limit, this is when we should take a rest or eat to refill and recharge our energies.

A lot of people think that giving up sleep and food helps them in becoming productive because it means more hours for you to work. However, it’s not the case. Because you denied rest and food into your system, your body would eventually feel weak and unfunctional, making it unfit for work. Remember that you only have one body and its health is your wealth. You can always find another job if your current one fails, but you can never have another body. You may also see 6 Overtime Sheet Examples & Samples.

That is why it is advised to only devote 7 to 8 hours a day for work. Within that span of time, avoid any distractions and just focus solely on finishing your tasks for the day so that at the end of the day you will have enough time to do other things and most importantly, you will have enough time to rest and be ready for the next days ahead. You may also see 11 Activity Sheet Examples & Samples.

4. Devote your entire focus to the scheduled task at hand.

Concentrate on the one task you have at hand. Do not attempt to do multi-tasking because more often than not, this will only make you lose focus and would result in a lot of unfinished tasks. If you only devote yourself to tasks one at a time, there is a bigger chance that you will be able to finish it and you can still do other tasks you have during the day. It has been said that you can never serve two masters at the same time and this is true because when you think of focus, it only means that you are pouring your energy and time only to solely one task. 5.  Schedule in a way that you would get an early start.

Start the day early so you will have more time and energy to do your scheduled tasks. Scheduling early will also keep procrastination away. It feels good and less stressful when you would start your day early. Starting your day early means that if ever you finished your tasks early as well, it means that you will also end your day early as well. And who does not like to end the day early? It means you have more time to do other things such as workout, hobbies, and even more time to spend with your family and friends. You may also see 10 Training Sheet Examples & Samples.

6. Stay away from distractions

With all the distractions around us, it is very easy to stray away from our scheduled tasks. If you know you have a lot of things to do, be the disciplined person that you are and make a way that you will be able to keep temptations at bay. Put your phone away if it is distracting you a lot, block all the social media sites on your laptop or computer, and stay out of chatty people. If you cannot control the noise made by the people around you, be the bigger person and just put on your headphones and listen to relaxing music or any genre of your choice to deafen the noise of the people around you. You may also see 12 Assignment Sheet Examples & Samples.

Distraction could also come in a form of your pet peeves. For example, a writer has a pet peeve of typographical errors whenever he writes something down. That is why, whenever he writes, he stops and edits the words he spelled wrong. Perfectionism can be a distraction and it takes and wastes so much time. If only he would just continue writing even after seeing all the red marks and lines and just edit the whole work after all the writing has been done? It saves so much time. You may also see 10 Student Sheet Examples & Samples.

7. Notice repetitive scheduled tasks? Turn it into habits.

If you have noticed that the simple act of drinking water has to be in your schedule just so you can make sure that you drink water during the day, maybe it’s time for you to finally create a habit of drinking water. It has been said that it takes at least 21 days in order to form a habit. Creating a habit makes scheduling a lot easier because it helps you complete tasks at a faster pace since you already know and are almost seemingly programmed to do a particular task. You may also see 7 Task Sheet Examples & Samples.

8. Indicate time limits

Having a time limit will make you motivated to just focus on one thing so that you will be able to get it done within the given time limit. There are a lot of methods in order to set your own time limit in getting things done and one of this is the Pomodoro Technique which is a time management method makes you devote 25 minutes solely in getting a job done and after the 25 minutes is a 5 minute break. So for example, you started working at 10:00 am until 10:25 am, you take a break within 10:25 am up to 10:30, and you start working again from 10:30-11:55 until you take another break between 11:55 up to 12:00 noon. You may also see 14 Client Information Sheet Examples & Samples.

9. Be organized

Be a firm believer that if you have an organized workspace, you will get a lot of things done and you will be able to save a lot of time. For examples, you are working on a DIY project, however, when you started working, you have realized that the important things you need for your DIY project are all over the place. So, every now and then, you always find the need to stand up in order to get the scissors in the other office or get more papers in the stock room. All these standing up are taking too much of your time. It wastes your time to the point that you have to give up or move some scheduled tasks within the day to another day because you do not have any more time left.Being organized saves tons of time, and you don’t have to be the most ultra-organized person in the world either. Systems aren’t complicated to implement. You may also see 52 Sheet Examples in Doc.

This is the most important tip because how are you going to accomplish your scheduled tasks within the day if you are not committed? Stay firm in your plans and for sure, you will meet all your goals in life. You may also see 45 Sheet Examples in PDF.
