My work begins with the human body—not as a portrait of an individual, but as a universal
measure of space, existence, and experience. I am interested in the body as a place of
possibility, where physical presence becomes a means of exploring our relationship with
architecture, landscape, and the wider world. Rather than creating representations of people, I
seek to create situations that invite reflection on what it means to inhabit space.
Sculpture allows me to investigate the connection between the internal and external, the visible
and the invisible. Using materials such as iron, steel, and cast metal, I create forms that record
the body's presence while remaining open to interpretation. These works are not intended as
monuments or symbols but as catalysts for awareness, encouraging viewers to become
conscious of their own bodies in relation to the surrounding environment.
My practice is driven by an interest in space as an active element rather than an empty void.
Whether a sculpture stands alone or forms part of a larger installation, the space around it is as
important as the object itself. I am fascinated by how light, scale, movement, and perspective
influence our perception, transforming ordinary environments into places of contemplation and
discovery.
The process of making is fundamental to my work. Each sculpture emerges through
experimentation with material, structure, and balance, embracing both precision and
unpredictability. I see sculpture as an ongoing dialogue between mass and emptiness,
permanence and change, inviting viewers to experience familiar spaces from new perspectives.
Ultimately, my work is an exploration of human existence and our place within the world. By
using the body as a point of departure rather than a destination, I hope to create sculptures that
encourage stillness, curiosity, and a heightened awareness of the connections between self,
space, and time.
