My work explores the enduring relationship between tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural
identity through the art of pottery. I am inspired by the knowledge passed through generations,
using clay as a medium to preserve ancestral practices while celebrating the beauty and
significance of handmade objects. Through carefully formed vessels and traditional firing
techniques, I seek to honor the connection between people, the land, and the stories carried
within every piece.
The process of making is at the heart of my practice. I work with hand-coiled clay, shaping each
vessel through patience, repetition, and close attention to material. Every stage—from gathering
natural clay to polishing, decorating, and firing—reflects a deep respect for traditional methods
that have been refined over generations. These practices connect each work to the history,
knowledge, and cultural values of my community.
My work is inspired by the landscapes, symbols, and artistic traditions of the Pueblo people.
Natural forms, ancestral designs, and ceremonial motifs become expressions of continuity and
belonging, reflecting the close relationship between cultural heritage and the environment.
Through these visual languages, I celebrate the enduring significance of tradition while allowing
each vessel to carry its own unique presence.
Material plays an essential role in my artistic language. Clay, slip, fire, and polished surfaces
reveal the natural qualities of the earth while demonstrating the transformative possibilities of
ceramic practice. The distinctive finishes and carefully balanced forms reflect the harmony
between craftsmanship, material, and the rhythms of the natural world.
Pottery, for me, is both an artistic and cultural practice. Every vessel represents a dialogue
between past and present, honoring the generations of makers who have preserved these
traditions while ensuring they remain meaningful for the future. Through craftsmanship and
careful attention to detail, I seek to create works that embody respect, resilience, and cultural
continuity.
