My work explores the relationship between humanity and the natural world through careful
observation and expressive visual storytelling. I am fascinated by the changing forms of
mountains, rivers, oceans, and skies, using landscape and everyday life as subjects through
which to examine the rhythms of nature and the experiences of ordinary people. Through
woodblock prints, painting, and drawing, I seek to reveal the beauty and vitality that exist within
both monumental landscapes and fleeting moments.
Observation is central to my practice. I study the movement of water, the changing seasons, the
flight of birds, and the gestures of people at work and in daily life, believing that careful attention
to the natural world reveals endless opportunities for artistic discovery. Each composition is an
attempt to capture the energy, balance, and harmony that connect all living things.
The process of printmaking plays a vital role in my artistic language. I value the collaboration
between drawing, carving, printing, and craftsmanship, recognizing that every stage contributes
to the final image. Through refined line, expressive colour, and dynamic composition, I create
works that combine technical precision with a sense of movement and spontaneity, allowing
familiar subjects to appear both timeless and alive.
My work is deeply inspired by the landscapes and cultural traditions of Japan. Mountains,
waves, trees, bridges, and villages become recurring symbols of endurance, transformation,
and the relationship between people and their environment. By depicting both extraordinary
natural phenomena and ordinary daily experiences, I seek to celebrate the interconnectedness
of humanity and nature.
Line, rhythm, and perspective define my visual language. I use bold contours, carefully
balanced compositions, and shifting viewpoints to create images that guide the viewer's eye
through space while emphasizing the dynamic qualities of the natural world. These visual
elements allow each print to communicate movement, atmosphere, and emotional depth with
clarity and simplicity.
