FOCUS: DATA ANALYTICS & SME CONSULTING
he survival of a small business is rarely decided by the quality of its product; it is
almost always decided by the efficiency of its cash flow. I learned this harsh reality
during my junior year of high school when my family’s regional plumbing supply
company nearly collapsed. When global supply chains fractured, our inventory costs
skyrocketed, and delayed vendor payments created a suffocating cash flow bottleneck.
Sitting at the kitchen table, watching my parents agonize over payroll, I realized that
passion and hard work are insufficient without rigorous operational strategy.
Determined to help, I taught myself advanced Excel and took over the company's
archaic inventory ledger. Over three months, I built a dynamic forecasting model that
identified our most profitable, high-turnover SKUs and flagged dead stock that was tying
up critical capital. By liquidating stagnant inventory and renegotiating payment terms
with our primary logistics providers based on my data projections, we stabilized the
company’s operating margins. That kitchen-table crisis was my true introduction to
business management. It taught me that data analytics is not just corporate jargon; it is a
life raft for working families.
I am currently a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration with a dual concentration in Data Analytics and Operations Management.
My professional goal is to become a management consultant specializing in small-to-
medium enterprises (SMEs). While major consulting firms exclusively serve Fortune 500
corporations, I want to bring enterprise-level, data-driven operational strategies to
independent, family-owned businesses. I want to build accessible technological
frameworks that allow local businesses to compete with corporate monopolies without
sacrificing their community roots.
