Good evening, everyone. For those of you who haven’t met me, I’m Grace — Sarah’s little
sister: a title that comes with a lifetime of borrowed sweaters and unsolicited advice.
When Sarah called last spring to say she had met somebody, I heard it in her voice before she
even finished the sentence. So I flew out to meet him, fully prepared not to like him. That is a
little sister’s sacred duty. One dinner later, I understood — he watched her like she was

the
room
.
Since Michael, I’ve watched my sister — the woman who keeps backups of her backups — learn
to leave room for surprise. And when someone walks in and quietly rearranges the future you
had planned, that isn’t a small thing.
It
’
s
the
whole
thing
.
Michael, from all of us who love Sarah: welcome. You’re gaining a mother who texts goodnight,
a father with four decades of woodworking stories, and a sister who will absolutely steal your
good hoodies. We’ve been waiting for you. And Sarah — you told me you’d only marry someone
who could keep up with you. Clearly, you found him.
So

With love, and a full glass,
Grace
