For the happy couple — and for everyone lucky enough to raise a glass with them
Good evening, everyone — and thank you for being here. Some of you
have travelled across the world, and some of you only across the street,
but tonight we all arrived at the same place: standing beside two people
who found the kind of love the rest of us spend our lives hoping for.
Real love — the kind that outlasts everything — rarely announces itself
in grand gestures. It lives in the quiet things: coffee made without being
asked, a hand found in a crowded room, laughter on an ordinary
Tuesday. And today, in front of everyone who loves them, these two
promised to give those quiet things to each other for a lifetime. That is
not a small promise. It is the bravest and most beautiful one two people
can make.
So here is what we wish for you: grand adventures and quiet evenings,
patience on the hard days and joy on the ordinary ones, a friendship
that grows kinder with every passing year. May your home always feel
