Apple Three-Day Office Memo
1. PURPOSE AND STRATEGIC FOUNDATION
At Apple, making products that enrich people's lives requires relentless dedication, intense collaboration, and an
unparalleled level of cross-functional craft. For all that we achieve through digital coordination, there is an
irreplaceable chemistry that comes from working side by side in our studios, labs, and collaborative spaces.
This
Apple Three-Day Office Memo
formalizes the operating cadence of our hybrid pilot. It balances the benefits of
in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work, giving teams a structured framework to connect while
preserving deep focus time.
2. IN-PERSON PRESENCE ARCHITECTURE
Under our hybrid model, corporate team members are expected to work from an assigned Apple facility a minimum of
three days per week:
Company-Wide Collaboration Days:
All corporate employees report to their assigned Apple campus on
Tuesdays and Thursdays
. These common days optimize cross-functional alignment, inter-team syncs, and
spontaneous brainstorming across Apple Park, Infinite Loop, and regional hubs.
Team-Selected Third Day:
The third in-office day each week is designated by individual team leaders and
department directors to best support specific project milestones, lab testing, and immediate peer coordination.
Flexible Remote Days:
Mondays and Fridays remain open for remote work for eligible roles, offering dedicated
blocks for focused, uninterrupted individual output.
Executive Reflection:
Video calling narrows the distance between us, but there are vital elements of Apple's culture—
the serendipitous discoveries, the tactile hardware iterations, and the creative energy of our teams together—that
technology simply cannot replicate.
3. ANNUAL REMOTE WORK ALLOWANCE
To provide personal flexibility, eligible employees retain the option to work fully remotely for up to two to four weeks
per year, subject to manager approval. This benefit allows team members to travel, spend time with loved ones, or
seek a change of environment without interrupting business deliverables.
