SUBJECT:
Meta DEI Policy Memo
1. PURPOSE AND CONTEXT
Meta builds technologies that connect people, foster communities, and grow businesses. To fulfill this mission
effectively, our workforce must reflect the diverse global communities we serve. This memorandum outlines updated
governance standards for Meta's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, reinforcing our commitment to
inclusive hiring, equitable career development, and a respectful workplace culture.
Following recent organizational alignments, this policy codifies structural practices designed to ensure accountability,
transparency, and operational excellence across all engineering, product, and business units.
2. DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION FRAMEWORK
Our updated framework integrates equity into the core lifecycle of every employee:
Fair Representation Goals:
We maintain structured hiring pipelines and objective interview loops designed to
reduce bias and broaden talent acquisition across underrepresented communities.
Equitable Advancement:
Performance calibration panels incorporate standardized criteria to guarantee fair
evaluation, compensation reviews, and leadership promotion pathways.
Inclusive Product Design:
Engineering and design teams must incorporate inclusive review practices to ensure
our AI models, AR/VR ecosystems, and social platforms respect diverse user needs.
Core Directive:
Inclusion is a collective responsibility. Every leader is evaluated on their active contribution to fostering
a supportive and diverse team culture during annual reviews.
3. EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS AND COMMUNITY ALIGNMENT
Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) remain vital pillars of Meta's cultural fabric, providing peer support, leadership
mentorship, and valuable product insights:
Resource Allocation:
ERG leadership chapters will receive dedicated operational budgets and executive
sponsorship to support community programs and global heritage months.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
ERGs will partner directly with product development teams to provide usability
feedback and ensure cultural competence in emerging technologies.
