1. PURPOSE AND EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
At JPMorgan Chase & Co., our culture, apprenticeship model, collaboration, and rigorous risk management are
best sustained through in-person engagement. Following extensive operational reviews across our global
banking hubs, this memorandum reinforces our mandatory office attendance standards for all corporate,
commercial, and investment banking personnel.
Consistent physical presence ensures seamless teamwork, rapid decision-making, and adherence to regulatory
expectations across all jurisdictions.
2. CORE ATTENDANCE STANDARDS AND EXPECTATIONS
All corporate employees and managing directors are expected to work from their designated office location
five
days a week
or in accordance with their designated hybrid classification established by line-of-business
leadership.
Key operational principles governing attendance include:
Full-Time Roster:
Managing Directors (MDs) and senior executives are expected to maintain a full five-day
in-office presence to lead by example.
Hybrid Classifications:
Where approved hybrid structures exist (such as 3-day or 4-day mandates),
attendance is tracked via building badge swipes and manager verification.
Client Readiness:
Front-office personnel must be available on-site to support client meetings, deal
execution, and time-sensitive trading operations.
Executive Directive:
Regular in-office presence is a fundamental requirement of employment at JPMorgan
Chase and is explicitly factored into annual performance evaluations and compensation reviews.
3. ATTENDANCE TRACKING AND COMPLIANCE PROTOCOLS
Compliance with office attendance policies is actively monitored across all regional headquarters, including
New York, London, Hong Kong, and corporate tech centers:
Badge Analytics:
Automated entry systems track daily building access to provide accurate utilization data to
division heads.
Exception Reviews:
Medical or special operational exceptions must be submitted through MyHR and
require formal approval from human resources and department heads.
