What Is a Personal Care Agreement?

The agreement is a contract typically between a family member who agrees to provide caregiver services for a disabled or aging person that will require personal care. When you make this kind of agreement with the caregiver, you’re basically telling that person what kind of tasks he/she will be doing and how he/she will be compensated for all the work that will be done. This is the main reason as to why those who are invovled in the making of this kind of agreement will need to discuss amongst themselves as to how all the details will be formed in order to quell any concerns. You may also see rental agreement.

If the personal care giver is a family member, then it would be wise of you to think of this in the same manners as a settlement agreement where it’s a legal document. If the persona who requires personal care is receiving state supported in-home care, the agreement will  need to where the money is going and for what kind of services. In addition, this document is similar to executive agreements where it’s able to get rid of any confusion from the people that are invovled in it. A good example would be, avoid misunderstandings regarding the amount of money that will be inherited and just about anything else concerning the people involved in the agreement.

Basic Components of a Personal Care Agreement

When the time comes that you have to create this type of document, then you should know that it has 3 basic requirements in order for you one person to pay a personal care provider for any services that will be renderd. These would be the following:

1. The entire agreement must be in writing. Always go with a printed document that you made via your computer as you want this document to look professional to the eyes of any who read it. Also, do not forget to put your signature to declare it official. You may also see reseller agreement

2. The payment will be for any services that will be provided in the future (Not for services that have already been performed).

3. The compensation for what services will be provided should be reasonable. This means it should not be more than what would be paid to a third party for the same care in the area where you’re located. Tasks performed should match “reasonable” or “customary” fees that would usuall be charged for those types of services. You may also see promotion agreement

Other Components Required for the Document:

1. The Date in which the personal care will beging. This is very important, especially in the event that one would need to look into the document to settle any disputes regarding the personal care giver and the party that hired him/her.

2. Detailed descriptions of all the tasks that are to be handled by the service provider. For example, details regarding the errands that will be done by the care giver such as driving towards medical and dental facilities and acquiring whatever is needed to provide his/her services. You must remember that this has to be done very meticolously as you’ll need to point out everything that you want the service provider to do for you in order to obtain the best possible care. You may also see shareholders agreement

3. How long the services will be provided. You should always opt for a flexible schedule but you should also ensure that the care giver works the required number of hours needed in order to fully treat a family member every single day.

4. The details concerning how the care giver will be compensated for all the services that will be provided. This should discuss everything from the amount of money that will be paid as well as when the care giver will be given the money (you can opt to do it either weekly or bi-weekly).You may also see management agreement

5. How long the agreement will be in effect or basically how long the care giver will be contracted to you. (The agreement should set time, such as a year or two years, so that both parties will know when exactly the contract will be considered complete.)You may also see sales agency agreement

6. A statement that the terms of the agreement can be modified only by mutual agreement of the parties in the document. This can ensure that you can change whatever you need to ensure that everyone is treated fairly. You may also see workforce agreement examples

7. The locatoin in which the care giver will provide his/her services. (This depends on wherever you’re holding or planing to hold the person that will need the personal care.. Allow for the location of the care to change in response to increasing care receiver needs.)You may also see license agreement

8. And finally, the signatures of both parties to ensure that both have come to an agreement regarding all the details of the personal care.
