There is no student in the world who does not have a myriad of tasks to do every day. With the vast number of subjects they had for the day and the equally vast number of tasks, homework, and exam each subject gives and schedule samples for the next day, it’s amazing that a lot of students have survived through it all.
But there also students who have a difficulty in taking on the challenges of what the school gives them. Some of them would already tend to forget things they should be bringing for the class next day, some of them would only be surprised the next day to know that there are exams scheduled for one or more two subjects, and there are also some, when enrolling, would forget the requirements that they are tasked to bring by the registrar.
This is when checklists examples would come to play its role. There are some students who are lucky enough to know the power that checklists hold in their student lives. While some people think it’s to hassle to write and use a checklist, it actually saves a lot of time and energy. There are also some people who would think that writing and using checklists is just laziness when in fact, it’s the other way around; checklists encourage productivity and a habit that can be useful especially when the students would be transitioning to the corporate world.
Checklists may seem ordinary but these ordinary things have put a lot of students in an advantage when they were already in the corporate world. They gained skills and values that improved their wholesomeness. Through checklists, they have become organized, prepared and independent. The best thing that checklist has helped with goal-oriented people is that through checklists, they were able to outline their goal, both short-term, and long-term.
Every field has a different use for checklists. For those who work as engineers, doctors, or pilots, checklists can be used as a guideline that would help them in executing their tasks without committing a lot of failures or at least reduce the number of mistakes. It would also help in developing consistency especially if the job consists of repeatable tasks like bakers and cooks.
Students also have a different use for a checklist. A student checklist examples is simply a list of items or tasks that needed to be brought, done or checked by the students and is especially used for school or in the university.
Student checklists are also a list of items that are doable by the capabilities and schedule of the students. An effective student checklists would help students in identifying their weaknesses or tasks that they should be making an extra effort in order to improve.
In this age, there is an advancement in the writing of sample checklists, especially for students. There are students who are tech-savvy and would use checklists on a digital medium like their cellular phones, tablets, and personal computer or laptop. It is more feasible for them since nowadays, most of the note taking and the referencing are done digitally, and since they are on their gadgets most of the time, it would be easier for them to check up on their checklist.
Additionally, they can also easily edit their checklists without making a lot of a mess or erasures since it cannot be avoided that every subject teacher might change their assigned tasks, readings, and exams at the last minute.
While we already know how beneficial checklists are for students in their schooling, let us have a detailed look at its benefits to be more oriented and knowledgeable.
Student checklists give students a visual and comprehensive list of what they are to do and since they already have everything listed down, they would already be aware that they have such tasks. And knowing the tasks they have, in a way, this would give them the feeling of being pressured to accomplish their tasks, which in return, would make them productive and get things done more than usual. This kind of pressure is something that is positive since it would pressure you to check off items from the list and proceed to the next items on the list.
Student checklists are likened to a guideline that would guide the students in their goal setting and eventually the achievement of their goals.
Student checklists may seem like a lazy guy’s guide since memorizing things can be tedious but no, it’s the other way around; student checklists make the lazy and procrastinator a responsible one. Through the use of checklists, students will learn how to prioritize, plan, and manage their tasks or projects. Quality checklists are actually a motivation for slackers since having something to check off from their own checklist would give them satisfaction and this helps them in staying on track.
Since checklists would help in setting goals, it would also help in managing them. It would allow the students to see what they have achieved so far and this would encourage them to achieve more than goals. Additionally, it would help the students in managing their time so they can finish their tasks faster and earlier which would allow them to allot more time for other tasks to be done.
For newbies, there are tasks that are still difficult for them from the start but with the use of an effective checklist, these kinds of tasks will be easier in the long run. Why? This establishes a system and a routine that the newbie will be religiously following every single day. For those who are not newbies, checklists will serve as a guide whenever there are tasks they usually find hard to do.
Admit it, there are who would say, “I forget all about it whenever they fail to accomplish a task.” While this might be an overused alibi, this can be actually true. But once students would adopt making and writing checklists, then it would actually be an invalid excuse since checklists are made to make sure that nothing is forgotten.
Checklists keep students on track with their tasks since every checklist has every single task written on it and with that, they are able to monitor what are the things that needed to be done and what are the things that were already accomplished. Through this feature, students will be able to keep track of the looming deadlines and they would not be overwhelmed.
Despite the myriad of tasks, maintenance checklist actually allows anyone to have time for other non-academic activities with the condition that each task or item on the checklists is followed and not skipped.
What good will checklists be if it’s incomprehensible? It is important that every single item or step on the checklists is clear and concise. It does not mean that detailed items are longer; there will always be a way that items on the checklist will be detailed but is not really that long.
This is helpful for longer tasks that can get too overwhelming for the students. Breaking things down into categories would make the navigation from one to another less overwhelming and it actually helps in getting things done.
Now, what good are checklists that are not actionable? This defeats the purpose of making checklists in the first place since checklists exist for the reason that there are some things that have to be done. By making items of the checklist doable, it means that it can actually and possibly be done and executable.
