ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
ANNUAL SELF-PERFORMANCE REVIEW
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENTS
This past year, my primary focus has been designing and validating the power
distribution and control systems for our new industrial automation platform. My
most significant technical achievement was leading the schematic capture and PCB
layout for the main controller board. By carefully managing trace impedances and
implementing a revised grounding strategy, I was able to reduce electromagnetic
interference (EMI) and signal noise by approximately 15% compared to our legacy
product. This optimization ensured we passed standard EMC compliance testing on
the very first pass, avoiding weeks of costly laboratory re-testing and layout spins.
In addition to new product development, I spearheaded a proactive cost-down
initiative on our existing sensor modules. By identifying legacy microcontrollers and
op-amps that were nearing end-of-life (EOL) and replacing them with modern,
readily available equivalents, I helped reduce the BOM (Bill of Materials) cost by 8%
per unit. This transition required close collaboration with the firmware team to
ensure the new hardware was fully compatible with our existing software
architecture.
CORE COMPETENCIES & STRENGTHS
Hardware Validation & Debugging:
I excel in the laboratory environment. I have a
strong aptitude for utilizing oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and thermal imaging to
systematically isolate faults in complex analog and digital circuits. I pride myself on
bridging the gap between theoretical circuit design and practical, real-world
hardware behavior.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
An electrical system does not exist in a vacuum. I
make it a priority to maintain constant communication with the mechanical
engineers regarding spatial constraints and thermal dissipation, and with the
