Guidelines for Grant Applications

Institutions have their own ways of analyzing and selecting who to bestow a grant. There are thousands of hopeful applicants trying to get a piece of comfort that the grant could provide. However, only a few are selected.

The key that most people do not know is the way that their grant application sample is written.

Here are some guidelines which might be helpful on your quest to writing.

  • Be Genuine. Every institution have records and ways to check if you are eligible or not. The thing is, never ever falsify your claims. Grants are given to those who really need it. However, if you pretend to be and apply for a grant, specially from the government, they will know and you might face a possible sanction.
  • Be Realistic. Do not ask for too much. Again, these institutions do not have the luxury of money to provide huge amount to everybody. And they have ways to know your capacity. Stick to only what you need.
  • Be Reasonable. Most people tend to fall on the trap of one of the logical fallacies which is argumentum ad misericordiam or “appeal to pity.” Give a good reason why you need it.
